Crab Alternating Toe Tap Even though a wider base will help with stability, most restrictions are going to happen at the shoulder joint. Finger direction as a cue will help guide internal vs external rotation. The better the mobility in shoulder extension, the higher they will be able to raise the hips. This movement can be very challenging for a lot of members, if we want to start them off successful as a group, we might have them start on the bench, then progress them to the floor.

Quite often members don’t have the mobility to straighten the leg in the single leg squat aka the pistol position. They are also often surprise on their ability to achieve success with this option.

We do the dumbbell snatch often from a hang position but not too often that we alternate. Alternating requires another level of complexity as we have to pull the weight from the ground. The additional range of motion tends to be a position not everyone has the best mobility or awareness of. Make sure we have options to have our members safe but also progressing to control in a bigger range of motion while staying explosive.
