Speed skater lunges and speed skaters with power. Intention is single leg force and lateral control and balance. As coaches, when we give options individually we have to dog deeper on why are we prescribing the option. What can we do better to help them advance instead of generic options like less weight, limited range of motion 🙄 (those are obvious always). Let’s always think about what the intention of the exercise is and how can we give them small steps to be better everyday.
