Split Squat

Front Loaded Contralateral Single Arm Split Squat (Slow) In all split squats we want the feet to be about shoulder width apart. We want majority of weight in the front leg, maybe 70-80% of weight. Especially as we work a slow descent we might need to slightly tip the torso forward for better weight distribution. When it comes to that deliberate slow count, often members push too much weight in the back leg. We need constant reminders to be heavy in the front leg. It is much more challenging at tempo with up high and away from the hips, if members are having a hard time shifting weight forward, we can always have them use the option of weight down by their side. If they have balance issues, we can always move to ipsilateral loading as well.
Goblet Rear Foot Elevated Split Squat Option (Bulgarian Split Squat Option) Often members are hesitant on this movement due to mobility or balance issues. This option gives them the chance to focus weight in the front leg and a big range of motion while providing them a little more balance and control.
